A Proud History
Dedrick’s Pharmacy and Gift Shop has been serving the Hudson Valley since 1857, beginning in Kingston, NY and expanding to New Paltz in 1968.
In 2018 Dedrick’s entered a new and exciting chapter! Bill and Jack Sheeley retired and sold their life’s work to Jared Nekos. Jared is a 4th generation business owner and 3rd generation pharmacist. He has worked for the Sheeleys since 2013.
Since 1896, the Nekos family has served their community with a passion for customer service and a drive to provide an exceptional product that all can be proud of. This lifelong passion combined with the tutelage provided by the Sheeleys puts Dedrick’s in the forefront of the profession. Our Team is ecstatic to continue the tradition of excellence that has defined Dedrick’s for decades.
Carrying on a Long Tradition
Jared grew up helping out in his father’s store in Kingston. He learned first hand the long hours, hard work and dedication required to run an owner operated local business. After receiving his Doctoral degree in Pharmacy, he went to work for the Sheeleys who taught him all about the needs and preferences of the New Paltz community.
The pharmacy industry is changing rapidly and Jared is committed to ensuring that these changes are incorporated into Dedrick’s operations in ways that benefit its customers. Dedrick’s has become, and will always remain, a thoroughly modern and reliable pharmacy, where the needs of patients always come first.
Jared understands the value of providing caring, dependable service and fair value, and treating customers like family. Now, as the owner of his own small business, Jared and his wife Ashley are excited about continuing this proud heritage, and continuing the tradition of serving New Paltz that Dedrick’s has provided for over 50 years.

Dedrick’s is a truly local “Family” Pharmacy and Gift Shop, providing the best prescription service found anywhere. Dedrick’s pharmacists are always available to answer questions about prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.
Our philosophy is the more knowledgeable and comfortable our patients are with their medications, the more likely they are to be successful with them. There are many scholarly articles to support this philosophy and we are committed to it.

Dedrick’s At The Pond
Dedrick’s At The Pond is a retail and gift shop located at the Woodland Pond continuing care retirement community in scenic New Paltz, offering a wide selection of everyday items, vitamins/supplements, gift, cards and much, much more. In Dedrick’s At The Pond, we strive to provide excellent customer service and convenience for all of Woodland Pond’s wonderful residents.
